ABOUT
Devorah Lee
Devorah Lee was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1952, during a period of the pervasive Black-Market baby ring; in today’s terms we’d call it “human trafficking!” Later in life, at age 55, she learned she was a victim of this illegal baby market’s egregious transgression. She was raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, until graduating and now resides in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, for most of her adult life.
In 2007, she learned about her birth, and finally, in 2015, it was her first break in finding out who her mother was. That began her search for many more walls to conquer. She has detailed many of the enormous struggles to achieve her goal. It’s an intriguing life story. She shares the tools and resources she used during her journey to achieve the impossible. Her spirit wouldn’t let her stop until she climbed every wall and unveiled every truth.
She is an advocate for adoptees looking for their biological parents and parents looking for their birth children, bringing families together. She’s learned the dire importance of knowing one’s origin. Her heartfelt message is, You have a right to know - never give up!
